Worksite-Related Alcohol Behavior: Urban Transit Drivers

David Ragland, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a Senior Research Scientist and Project Director at PRC. At PRC, Dr. Ragland is directing a study of worksite factors affecting alcohol consumption in urban transit operators. Dr. Ragland also holds an appointment at the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley where he is Director of the University of California Traffic Safety Center, a multidisciplinary venture which has the aim of reducing the burden of traffic crashes through research, curriculum, outreach, and training. At the School of Public Health Dr. Ragland currently teaches a course in Public Health Injury Prevention and Control and co-teaches Planning for Traffic Safety and Injury Control. Dr. Ragland has authored or co-authored over 60 publications and reports covering a variety of areas of health and well-being, including cancer, cardiovascular disease and injury epidemiology, and occupational health and safety.
