Smoking in Bars: An Ethnographic Analysis
Juliet
Lee is a Research Anthropologist at PRC. She received
her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University
of Virginia after conducting doctoral research on ethnic
identity, urbanization, and public policy in Indonesia.
Prior to coming to PRC, she conducted research on public
health needs for Latino and Southeast Asian immigrants
in the Central San Joaquin Valley and program evaluations
in Fresno and Los Angeles. She also has extensive experience
conducting survey research and field interviews, including
research on breast cancer and tobacco cessation. At
PRC she works as project ethnographer on the Sacramento
Neighborhood Alcohol Problem Prevention project; project
manager on the Preventing Minority Drinking Problems
project; and as project manager and project ethnographer
on Smoking in Bars: An Ethnographic Analysis; as well
as continuing to develop a research interest in substance
use among Southeast Asian youth and young adults.
