Carol
Cunradi is a Senior Research Scientist at PIRE. She joined
PRC in 1999. Currently, Dr. Cunradi is the project director
of an NIH-funded study on drinking patterns and problems among
military careerists (Military Work and Drinking: Risks and
Prevention; Dr. Genevieve Ames, P.I.), is a co-investigator
on an NIH-funded study of alcohol-related behavior among municipal
transit operators (Dr. June Fisher, P.I.), and is the survey
manager of a Department of Defense-funded study of high risk
sexual behavior among young enlisted military personnel (Dr.
Genevieve Ames, P.I.). Carol was a co-investigator on the
NIH-funded National Study of Couples (Dr. Raul Caetano, P.I.)
and has published extensively in the area of alcohol and intimate
partner violence among couples in the general household population.
Carol’s training has focused on social epidemiology.
Dr.
Cunradi received both her Master of Public Health degree (Epidemiology/Biostatistics
program, 1995) and her Ph.D. (Epidemiology, 1999) at the University
of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health. She was
also awarded a one-year NIAAA pre-doctoral fellowship in alcohol
epidemiology. Carol is a member of the Research Society on
Alcoholism, the American Public Health Association, and the
Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
